One thing that's surprised in Denmark: there are so many Danish flags. "Well you'd not expect them to fly German flags" I hear you say. Well, no. But on some places every fourth house has a flag pole with a dainty Danish flag, the shape of one of those long, thin flags you see in mediaeval jousting competitions. I think this flag thing is normal in Denmark and not the result of the world cup.
We asked someone why there were so many flags. He looked at us as if we'd asked 'why does everyone walk upright?'.
