Imaging it: flying all the way from Africa to find a friend... And then there's no one there!
There was a chiff-chaff in the tree next to my tent last night and this morning. He was chiff-chaffing away for hours and hours... But no one replied.i felt target sorry for him.
Fierce wind today, peaking at 70kmh. Fortunately it's mostly on my side/back so I'm not having to wrestle too much with it.
If found a little 'camp site' in the front garden of a little farm. In the only one here. I'm over the moon because they've got hot water and a shower. I realise now that I've traveled the length on Denmark without actually having a real shower. (That doesn't mean I've not washed, mum, honest). Thank full for simple things
Feeling rather pleased with myself yesterday to have clicked up 2000km..... Only to be put in my place by meeting to road cyclists who were doing 1000km "over the weekend". I console myself with the fact that my bike was probably five times heavier than theirs... But it did burst my little bubble.
Snuck into Germany without raising it this morning. The only sign being a couple of anpr cameras. Do they pick up cyclists I wonder?
First impressions of Germany:
Flat - here is Friesland, big, big sites, no shelter crib the wind andand hundr of windmills happily generating electricity.
